It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.

[ Chane's one thing, but this child... Xion's eyes are both brightened and narrowed and it's a dour mix. One that Chane doesn't especially like seeing, especially now that she's considering having children of her own.
Appropriately, she does her best to look a bit more gentle. Shaking her head, she tries to indicate (through light gestures!) that she doesn't think that's the reason. ]
[ Xion ... tilts her head, curious at the lack of reply. The gestures seem to get Chane's message across, though, and her expression softens a little. ]
It's just .... why us? Are ... are you okay? [ Somewhat timidly. She feels bad she didn't ask that straight away. ]
[ Correctly or not, she assumes that the girl is asking about Chane's silence. It's typically what people inquire about first, if they're not politely ignoring it. Nodding, she points to the part of her poster where it explains her muteness in three succinct words.
If Xion is asking about anything else, well, it's not quite coming across. ]
[ Eep. She's been assuming Chane was choosing not to talk, which didn't bother her, but now she feels embarrassed. She'd been a little over-focused on the "wanted for" bit. Xion flusters for a moment before she takes a breath. ]
S-Sorry! I mean, that's okay, if you can't. I just meant ... are you okay. Since... we're both under Most Wanted, and all.
[ ... oh. Yes. Chane glances back toward the most wanted board, and then facing Xion again. Herself, she can understand. This young girl, however? It makes a lot less sense on a single glance.
Nodding, and although she doesn't smile, her face seems to relax. Gentling, or an effort like it.
She gestures at Xion, as if to reciprocate the question. ]
[ Oh ... that's a good sign, probably. Probably? Xion ... still isn't very good at emotions. But this lady - Chane - seems a little more relaxed, so that's good.
Xion blinks when Chane gestures at her, surprised. ]
Are you ... asking me?
[ She sounds surprised before her expression turns thoughtful, and she glances at her poster. ]
... I'm okay. It's embarrassing, but... it's not really the poster that bothers me, anyway. I just ... I've been wondering what Most Wanted means, anyway. You don't think ... we'll end up in jail, do you?
[ What it means... Chane suspects this young girl is hoping she'll have an answer. Not being able to easily provide one is discomfitting, not quite the level of uncomfortable but close, and leaves her wishing.
At that last question, she shakes her head.

No, I do not. The Sheriff has made no attempt to take us into custody and the other people here don't seem to care about who's most wanted.
[ Wait... should she try to be more reassuring, less technical? What would Claire do in this situation? -- By the time that occurs to her, Chane's already holding up the notepad for Xion to read. Curses! ]
