[ WEEK FIVE ]

WEEK FIVE

CURRENT POPULATION: 25

It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.

... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!

After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.

This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to [plurk.com profile] robowest.

[...why in the fuck are you like this, Claire. Percy and Mrs. O'Leary had come into the church solely to get away from people for a bit, so when Percy finds Claire standing there he's just...sort of blinking in surprise.]

I'm not even sure Whole Ass has a religion, dude. The church is probably just for show.

And I'm not a licenced pastor, so doesn't that make me the perfect candidate for the job? That aside, what are you doing here?
hydrokinetics: (Id like to believe all the possibilities)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2017-02-13 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[Can't argue with that, so he shrugs with a small grin.] Guess it does.

[A glance to the church again.] Figured this would be a good place to think stuff over. People want to believe that somebody's watching out for them or whatever, don't they? [This is much, much easier than saying "someone contaminated the lake and my dad probably won't call me back now."] Who knows? Maybe the clouds'll part and some huge being will give us an answer to this game.

I honestly doubt something magical is gonna get us outta here. You're Percy, right? Lemme give you some free advice like a good pastor should. It goes like this; if you want something done, then do it yourself. And should someone else beat us both to the answer? Then it's not 'cause they're a god or anything.

Stop praying and work hard!

[ Okay, has it already been established what a terrible priest he makes? ]
hydrokinetics: (Then they'll say to me say to me)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2017-02-14 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[Um.] Yeah, that's me. [He's watching Claire a little more closely now.]

I don't really take the words of any kind of pastor to heart, but I guess there's enough truth in that. [He tilts his head.] So what are you doing to work hard in this place anyway? Besides testdriving a new career.

[It's not necessarily meant as sarcastic as it sounds, that's just Percy's default. He's genuinely a little curious since he knows a little more about Chane than Claire.]

That's actually one of the things I'm trying to figure out myself. Kinda gettin' tired of being a suspect for no reason, so it's time to step up! How do you think I'd best serve this town, PJ?
hydrokinetics: (Yeah right)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2017-02-15 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[Don't...call him PJ, wtf man. But he does give him another quizzical look.]

I'd say actually being upfront about stuff might help, but that sounds like something you're not into? Correct me if I'm wrong on that. [A pause.] Don't go into politics.

So now I'm a liar! You should know the only thing I've ever been guilty of is being too direct.
hydrokinetics: (Then they'll say to me say to me)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2017-02-15 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think I've ever heard you say a direct thing in trials before, man. [Which, whatever, he's used to people going in circles.] What's considered "too direct" anyway?
generously: (pic#10899489)

[personal profile] generously 2017-02-16 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I dunno, maybe things like divulging my adult love life, or saying that I was in my room when I was... --but hey, we can save this for the next trial.

[ Assuming neither of them is killed until then! ]

If you're still not convinced, then let me sleep in your room.

[ Now that's too direct. ]
hydrokinetics: (When you hear a song from that big lady)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2017-02-16 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
If I let you do that, what would happen to your roommate? [He's still a little curious about that, too, but apparently he also wouldn't say no to that to keep an eye on Claire. But. Like. Leave his roommates alone??] Isn't the whole point that people keep each other accountable here?
generously: (pic#10899648)

[personal profile] generously 2017-02-17 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
As you noticed, that doesn't seem to be working for me. [ It would help if his roomie piped up a little at trials, but alas. ] Besides, I wanna hold you kids accountable, too. You've been playing the cops for too long, you forget that anyone who votes isn't exactly innocent.

Indeed, the most honourable thing would be to not vote at all, but who wants to die, right? Better them than you, as it goes.
hydrokinetics: (Just remember what you're here for)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2017-02-17 09:30 am (UTC)(link)
[There's a look of pure confusion.] I don't think that's something people are forgetting. We know there's still killers walking among all of us because we keep failing at the trials.

[That isn't what he means at all, but it's how Percy's choosing to interpret it.] What's wrong with trying to solve things?
