It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings.
... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!
After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.
This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Wanted Posters and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to robowest. |

[Milla is in the post office today! she is tucking something extremely colorful into every person's mailbox, even those who are dead. she also still looks like her body might fall apart any second now, but you know, this is important!]
[there's a chicken from the homestead following her around as she works. its name is Felix. please be nice]
[to anyone who comes into the post office to check their mailboxes she'll give a slight nod in greeting, but she won't say anything out loud]
no subject
but more importantly than what she's doing (and he'll discover that in a bit), comes something a little more...
well, pressing, to him.]
....Never a moment's rest with you, huh? [milla, can you please take it a little easier for one day in your life?]
no subject
[she pulls up a smile for Noctis. fortunately, it doesn't look nearly as exhausted as her body does]
Not when there are still things I must accomplish. I know Yuna would have liked for me to pass these out to everyone.
[Felix the chicken pecks the ground idly at her feet]
no subject
[it's not like he'd try to stop her from what it is she wants to do, especially if it's for yuna's sake. he gets that—though he doesn't yet question what she's putting in the mailboxes or what's in his own.
...though he is looking down at felix a bit curiously. but you know what? he can't even find it all that weird that this point.]
no subject
You worry too much. I'll take a break later, I promise.
[even she can realize she's pushing herself to the brink of her limits. fortunately (?)]
[also, she sorts through the colorful somethings and hands one to Noctis]
Here. There isn't any point in putting it in your mailbox while you're standing right in front of me.

... He can kind of hazard a guess, so.
Approaching her, he clears his throat. He's not quite in the mood to write anything down, but he'll gesture at her as if to say: Need some help?]
no subject
Of course. Thank you. Yuna wrote everyone's names on the back, so they should be easy to sort through.
no subject
Sighing audibly, though, he gives Milla nod. He's got this, don't worry. Assuming she doesn't want to say anything else, he'll get to placing those in the correct places.]

[Milla nods in return and continues sorting bookmarks herself. after a few moments of working in silence, however, she speaks up again]
Are you faring okay, Jason?
[it had been a long week, after all. for everyone. she wants to check in]
no subject
I would recommend that you rest, but I also imagine that my advice may not be taken, all things considered.
[ He nods to the bookmarks she has left to put in the boxes ]
So instead, may I offer my help?
no subject
[either way, she splits the pile of colorful somethings in two and gives Hannibal half]
There will be plenty of time to rest this evening, when I'm finished. Nevertheless, thank you for your assistance.

[ As she laughs, he warns her gently, though there's a teasing note to his voice rather than anything serious. He takes the items from her and before he starts to sort them he gives them a look. Not in any individual capacity, but only to see exactly what they are. When he realizes it, he smiles a bit more, then dutifully starts to sort them. ]
Then I'll only hope that you rest sooner. You've had a rough time, Milla.

Haven't we all?
[there's a bit of ruefulness in her voice as she recalls how quickly their numbers in this town have dwindled]
It seems like only yesterday we arrived here by train. How quickly time flies. . .

[Milla's voice rises above the commotion]
What are you doing? Stop that!

[WHY IS THERE A CHICKEN ATTACKING HIM
Instinctively, he tries to bat the chicken away, because????????]

what if we just had even more threads
But having visited Milla and Yuna's room, knowing no one else who would do something like this, when she finds something in her mailbox, she goes to find Milla.
And when she does, the first thing she'll say is: ]
Are you okay?
I AM 100% FOR THIS PLAN
[she sits up on her bed, an open book in her lap, and blinks at her friend in surprise]
Xion? Of course I am. . . why do you ask?
HELLA
and then holds up the bookmark with an apologetic shrug. ]
... you handed these out for Yuna, didn't you?
no subject
I did. [also she gestures for Xion to enter, of course she has permission to come inside]
I know it's what Yuna would have wanted me to do.

[She says this before she sees exactly what Milla is putting in the mailboxes, and after that, the chicken catches her attention.]
And, uh, do I want to ask about the bird?
no subject
I'll take a break when I have time for one.
[which she feels like is NEVER, but. this dumb human body keeps yelling at her to slow down, and she knows she'll have to listen eventually]
Felix helped me pick this chicken out as a pet. I named it after him because of that.
[Felix the chicken is currently pecking the ground idly PLEASE IMAGINE HEIHEI HERE]
no subject
[But that's all she says about it. Milla is like an unmovable boulder, she thinks, there's no way to convince her otherwise when she has her heart set on something.
Anyways, more importantly—]
...You named your chicken after someone who assaulted and impaled someone with a shovel?
no subject
Yes. I did.
[Milla why]
