CURRENT POPULATION: 14 It's a rather quaint town when you get down to it. At least, that's what the Sheriff would argue. Warm and dry in the mornings and afternoons with a brisk coolness in the evenings. The perfect type of weather to just sit out on your rocking chair and observe the comings and goings. ... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The town is your oyster and those roosters won't stop crowing until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours! After all, there's nothing wrong with the town today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts. This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Truth be told, I believe some of that is entirely necessary considering the situation.

Which part, the sarcasm or the public intoxication? Because I feel like you could make a strong argument for either.

[She blinks, raising her eyebrows slightly.]

[He snorts gently, more amused than offended.]

Drunken disorderliness is certainly something that should not be taken lightly, especially if it disturbs the livelihoods of others--

There was very little interrupting the livelihoods of others involved. Promise.

[A shrug.]

I think alcohol usually makes people more likely to make stupid decisions like that. Still, we've basically seemed pretty capable of making them on our own so far, so maybe you're right.

... Indeed, we do not seem to require any assistance. Perhaps enough alcohol to make certain everyone is incapable of standing up...

[A small smile of her own, accompanied by an amused huff.]

Nah. Freedom of speech is a pretty big thing where I'm from. If sarcasm was illegal I'd be fucked.

[ That surprises a laugh out of her, the sound as startled as it ever is coming from her. ]

I guess it's lucky for you then that it's not, huh?

[ One corner of her mouth is warmly curled up as she leans forward and looks up into Natalie's face. ]

... these posters are dumb, anyway. Mine is stupid, too. I think everyone's is kind of weird.

Guess it is, yeah.

[She nods, glancing back at her poster for a moment with a slight shrug.]

Probably because the people who made them are stupid, too.

[ Considering she thinks the Sheriff made them, boy oh boy has she come a long way in her thinking!!!! ]

Do you remember what mine said? [ Makes a face. ] I'm still mad whoever made it thinks I can't take a joke.

[And she nods to Xion's assertion.]

Yeah, that part seems pretty flat out wrong.

[ Her smile is very crooked and a little fond when Natalie just, like, backs her up. ]

Maybe sometime I can tell you about the rest. It ... isn't wrong, [ she murmurs, lifting a hand to rub the back of her neck. ]

[A small smile of her own.]

[ Her expression shifts into something a little sweeter. And then: ]

Like that time I beat up one of my bosses?

[ That would be where "physically assaulting authority" comes from, it seems. ]

[robitussin]

[Whatever she was expecting Xion to say, it evidently wasn't that, because she lets out a sharp and shocked laugh.]

You're gonna tell me why, right?

[Even that question is more curious than disapproving.]
