[ WEEK ONE – ARRIVAL ]

ARRIVAL

It's a surprisingly quiet ride. The passenger cart is nothing more than wood and a bit of cotton to cushion the seats but for some reason, even as the train hurtles along down the track, the cart remains silent. It only starts filling with noise when the passengers begin to stir. There isn't any indication on how you got here. No grogginess, no injuries -- in fact, those who arrive with injuries might find them healed up completely (of course there are others who won't be so lucky) -- but in one blink and the next, you are here, on this train. Maybe you're even sitting next to a friend. Maybe a stranger. Won't be any time to talk either, the train suddenly slowing down with enough of a jerk to throw its passengers back into their seats. A few seconds later, it comes to a complete stop and with a whistle, the doors open and a voice calls from outside. It's male, with a slight mechanical twang behind it and anyone who looks out the window towards the station can just about spot the portly man out on the platform. "You might as well come on out, folks. You won't be getting any answers on the train." Once everyone is out on the platform, the man stands before them taking an assessing look at each person. There is something very off about him, though he looks human enough -- but his eyes are too white, his skin too dry, and his hair is doesn't shine quite right. He is dressed in a flannel shirt, suspenders, and jeans, a cowboy hat atop his head and a badge pinned to his shirt that reads "Sheriff". After a moment, he gives a gruff nod and speaks again. "Howdy. Real happy to see all of you. Explanations will come... Sunday morning, yeah. Give y'all a bit of time to meet each other. Settle in. Keys are on the table over there, hat and pistol in your room. Don't, er... Don't shoot each other right away but if you do, my office is over there. Go get some dinner, sun's about to set. Wouldn't want any coyote trouble." And that seems to be... it. The Sheriff tips his hat and turns to head to the building with the large "Sheriff" sign on the front. There is a table nearby, keys neatly laid out for everyone with nametags attached to each one. An owl hoots in the distance and a breeze passes through the group. It's quiet again. Welcome to game start! Characters will find their items in their hotel rooms and anyone who goes to visit the Sheriff after he leaves will find the station empty. On top of that, rulebooks will not be available to find until later. The Sheriff might be forcing it a little but it seems like the intent here really is to get everyone to interact with each other. [As the sheriff disappears into his office, Sei yells after him, but it doesn't do anything to stop him from going. It takes a couple of moments to decide to follow, but upon arriving, the office is empty.]

...what the hell? This can't be right... Hey! Someone get out here and tell us what's going on, damn it!

after taking a little time to calm down to calm down;
[..."calm" being relative, of course. A few deep breaths, and then Sei heads back out to speak with the others, stopping to grab a key from the table before doing so.]

I guess - I guess we should start by introducing ourselves, then? I'm not sure I like the idea of just going along with this, but what other choice do we have...?

Uh... I'll get started. My name is Seizaburo Kamiya. Let's all work together to figure out what's going on here.

Ah, yes, because "working together" is surely everyone's first thought after being told that we're being given guns and told not to shoot each other right away.

[Sorry, Sei, someone's here to rain on your good intentions.]

one, arrival.

[ There is something incredibly jarring about plummeting to your death one moment, bracing for pain beyond belief and then -- and then nothing. Waking up on a train, clean and dry and healed up. It's that last part that keeps Will quiet, tongue dragging along the inside of the scar across his face and wondering how in the world something like that is possible. Is he dreaming? Is he dead?

It's one of those, he decides, as he stands quietly in the crowd and his eyes flick around to the others and at the man in charge. He doesn't like crowds, especially ones as confused and upset as this, and the assault of emotion hitting him is making his head swim.

As the crowd disperses, he quietly heads off to the side to slip behind one of the building. The saloon, apparently, as he takes a quick read of the sign. It's only when he's alone that he finally drops to shaky knees in the dirt and in one quick lurch, empties the contents of his stomach on the ground.

Wryly, he realizes, all he can taste is blood and seawater. ]

two, saturday morning/afternoon.

[ The next morning, however, Will can be found walking through the town as a slow pace. He doesn't look well but, really, when does he ever? He still looks pale and shaky, eyes bloodshot like he didn't get any sleep at all. His hands are tucked into a jacket he grabbed from the clothing shop and frankly, he looks like one bit of social interaction might make him keel over.

On the bright side though, at his heel is a very fluffy looking dog who actually looks pretty happy in comparison. Winston sniffs the ground at Will's feet, tail wagging happily as he runs off ahead a bit before winding his way back to Will. Winston and Will at the very least, seem to be of the same level of curious about their surroundings. Anyone who spots Will can see him touching and feeling out the area, scanning the stores that are open and the stores that aren't, and even taking the hike up to the farm to see what's there too.

Anyone's welcome to join him, even if it doesn't quite look it. ]

[It's not like Sei really means to infringe on Will's privacy. Really, it's more of an unfortunate coincidence - she's just trying to become more familiar with their surroundings by exploring, rather than seeking him out specifically. But she can't help but notice him on his knees in the dirt as she rounds the salon.]

—are you okay?!

[Well, obviously not. If he was, he'd be standing upright, not kneeling in the dirt. She takes a few hesitant steps closer before the smell hits her, and she grimaces. Oh. Oh, yikes. Poor guy.

Steeling herself, she kneels down next to him and reaches out for his shoulder.]

Can you walk? Maybe we should try and get you to that hotel so you can lie down.

[glaring]

arrival.

[ She doesn't react to it on the train—instead she's confused, is this the... no way, something like this wouldn't be the... but then she's off of the train, stepping into the sun and shielding her eyes from it. It wasn't exactly dark near the Grail, considering the explosive light show she'd put on with Sakura, but after falling unconscious, the light just seems a little too bright right now. ]

Ah... how annoying.

[ Rin's picking at her shirt, which has a hole in the stomach and happens to be covered in her own blood. Inspecting it, she finds that her wound is completely gone. ]

saturday.

[ After that night, in which Rin really didn't get as much beauty sleep as a girl her age completely deserves, Rin is appearing from her room notably late in the morning, rubbing her face.

She's stepping out onto the dusty road, brushing something off of her skirt, then begins peering into the windows of nearby shops and buildings, even pushing doors open with the tips of her fingers like she's expecting them to be a trap. ]

[Rin may or may not hear light footsteps coming from behind her - but whether or not she does, someone will clear their throat before speaking.]

Found anything interesting so far?

[It's Sei, dressed like a man in the same clothing she arrived in the day before, because even if it's a little dusty she prefers it for its familiarity. She smiles and tries to make herself look as unthreatening as possible.]

I don't think there's anything waiting to jump out at us from behind those doors, but we can look around together if you want. Safety in numbers, right?

[The first thing anyone might notice is that Percy is pretty much dead asleep for most of the quiet train ride. The second thing anyone might notice is that he sort of looks like he was run over by the train prior to boarding it. He wasn't exactly one of the lucky ones and though several of his injuries have healed up, he's still littered in minor cuts and bruises, t-shirt and jeans ripped to shreds in various places.

The train comes to a stop and he gasps awake, almost startled by the fact he can breathe so clearly. Once they're off the train though and once he listens to the Sheriff his mouth draws into a thin line.

What the heck is this? Coyote trouble? Keys? …keys. Right. He moves then, surprised that most of the soreness in his muscles has disappeared, too, as he approaches the table with the keys and snatches the one with his name on it.]

Don't really have time to stay until Sunday, dude. [This is mostly mumbled to himself and more than anything it's clear he's very, very confused.]

closed to Annabeth

[It's not hard for anyone paying attention to see that he's immediately scouring the crowd of people for a familiar head of blonde hair, but the moment he sees Annabeth he moves closer. He doesn't do anything just yet, trying not to make it too obvious that they're together just in case this is a trap, but he does lower his head to murmur to her.]

What…just happened?

[For the most part, other characters can find Percy examining the ticket booth, opening the door and exploring for anything useful. Otherwise he's busy staring at the map with his eyebrows furrowed together, on occasion subtly patting his pocket like he's searching for something. If anyone comes in to join him, he'll turn and muster up a semi-friendly grin.]

He could've left us with some more information, huh? Where do you think we are?

[Later, he can be found exploring the hotel, walking the halls and checking things out. Are you a neighbor? You might even find him staring at his room door with distain. Someone's not happy he's been separated, but he'll have to play along. Other times he can be found poking around the kitchen. Feel free to interrupt his scavenging.]

Saturday morning

[This isn't the first time Percy's woken up in a strange place. Perhaps that's why he's so calm. It could also be the fact that when he arrived in his room he found a friend he hasn't seen in a while even if she's not quite what he remembers.

This morning, people can find Percy still wearing the clothes he arrived in and sitting in front of the hotel, the dog in front of him. The two appear to be people-watching. On occasion, he'll scratch her ears thoughtfully. Anyone stepping out of the hotel will hear him comment:]

What do you think, Mrs. O'Leary? Anything?

[Later, with Mrs. O'Leary following along behind him, he can be found snooping through the general store. The pair wander through the shop, Mrs. O'Leary sniffing around and Percy squinting at the text on some of the packaging. Are you in the store as well? He'll turn and greet you with a slight nod of his head.]

I don't even want to think about how long this has been sitting here.

[ annabeth shifts a little in her stance - arms crossed, eyes narrowed as she looks around - so that her weight is more anchored in percy's direction and speaks just as quietly. ]

I'm not sure. I know we don't know everything about Tartarus, but I've never heard about anything remotely like...this. [ some kind of western attraction? ] Nothing has tried to kill us for a whole, what, ten minutes? Something's wrong.

What? No. No, come on, fuck you! That's literally all you're going to say, you weird looking sack of shit?

[Immediately after that "introduction", there's one girl in the crowd who's clearly taking the entire experience up to this point very well. She meant those words to sound blunt and forceful, but they come out more shrill and panicked. She drags her hands down her face, making a groaning noise as she does.]

This isn't happening, holy shit. This is unreal. Hey, you! [She turns to whoever happens to be closest to her in the crowd.] Pinch me. Wait, no, fuck that, I don't know you. Don't touch me.

b. saturday afternoon.

[Eventually, she runs out of the energy it takes her to panic. Of course, she's still extremely stressed and tense, and it's not hard to see that in her body language. Arms crossed, fingers squeezing in so hard that there are little white marks in her arms from her nails. She can be found wandering around the rest of the town today, but pacing might be a more accurate term.

She looks fairly unimpressed by the decor and feel of the place, and if she notices anyone nearby, she'll gesture to it. Nothing in particular - more like the entire layout of the town.]

Sounds about right. [The answer comes from her left where Percy and his hellhound dog appear to be taking a walk. Natalie probably has further reason to be unimpressed seeing how he's still in his ripped up t-shirt and jeans, but seeing how his hands are in his pocket he's not exactly a threat.] I have no idea why we have to wait 'til tomorrow to get a better explanation.

[ papika's reaction to waking up on a strange train with zero recollection as to how she got there is... well, excitement. because trains are exciting, and she immediately starts running around to stick her head into things and check out this super cool train?? so it takes a while to get her off the thing. i'm sorry.

once she is off though, the look of utter joy switches to one of confusion. ]

Hey... where's Cocona?

[ and thus, papika proceeds to more or less ignore everything the sheriff tells them as she starts to search around for whoever the hell cocona is. so you may spot her looking around the sheriff's office, looking under rocks, etc. she has priorities. ]

b. saturday morning

[ if you step outside the hotel, you might want to be careful because papika is there! right outside the front entrance, just laying on her back and staring up at the sky with the look of someone who got all her candy stolen from her.

if you lean in you will hear her mumbling something? it sounds like "cocona" because she has a one tracked mind. then again, it could also be "potato"? she's definitely mumbling both. ]

[Eventually Yuna manages to split from the crowd, realizing there's not a whole lot for her to do there, especially as people disperse, and then she stumbles upon Papika turning over rocks.

So Yuna crouches down nearby her, head tilted.]

Excuse me? Are you looking for something? [what could she be looking for that'd be under a rock...] Can I help you look?

1) Arrival

[None of this makes sense. This place, being here, these strangers...the last thing Lust remembers is the desert beyond Lior. Already she's bristling. She's never had any love for a lack of answers, and promises of 'soon, soon' have lost their worth. None of this sits well with her. Or even seems possible. Her kind isn't prone to dreams or hallucinations of the mind, else she'd be certain that was the explanation. This is all very real, and all defies everything she knows of logic and the workings of nature.]

This is some kind of madness...

[She speaks to no one in particular. But surely there's someone in this milling, addled herd that can offer more insight than she has...]

2) Settling In

[As it seemed no further answers were to be had, there's nothing left to do but make use of the key left for her and the suggestion of supper. If nothing else, her treacherous master isn't anywhere near here. She's not certain what to thank for her escape from that bondage, but she supposes she could be far worse off.]

[She can at least investigate the accommodations and see what her room is like... She can be found exploring the living areas, and the room she's been given. She isn't expecting a roommate.]

[Eliot honestly isn't really much for conversation right now and he's not planning on talking much to anyone right now, especially not when everyone looks about as clueless as him right now. But he finds himself responding to this woman's comment anyway. 'Cause... well, damn if it's not accurate.]

[it's almost not even jarring to go from one train to suddenly being on another. like, noctis probably could have passed for not even realizing it if not for the fact that his trusty posse of friends (and bodyguards) are nowhere to be found.

it's really not very reassuring in the least—to the point where noct is barely even paying attention to what's being said when they get off the train. he's paying more attention to frantically searching the crowd for his friends (though he does hear what's being said. it'll process eventually).]

Where the hell did they go...

[he should probably be paying more attention to his surroundings, but this doesn't seem like an entirely impossible location to be, considering he'd never been where he thought he was headed anyway.

instead, he's going to be making his way through everyone with a close watch for familiar faces—and perhaps pulling your character aside if he thinks you look familiar to any capacity from behind.]

[sleep has to take him eventually; it's stressful and exhausting to be in a new situation when the last was already kind of a bad one.

but there's one familiar thing—umbra, a dog that technically belongs to his betrothed, but one he's spent a fair deal of time with. it leaves him a little less panicked, though he's not thrilled.

though in late morning, he'll be sitting outside with umbra, making sure he'd fed and giving him quality headpats.]

Guess we got work to do, huh? [he's talking to the dog. but they're both friendly and willing to have interruptions.

if not then, noctis will be found in various areas on the town, trying to get a handle on things. once he finds the watering hole, that's probably where he'll stay for the longest duration of time, more curious about the fishing situation once he realizes he isn't going to find his friends in this town (and that he's got nowhere else to go.)]

[Unlike just about everyone else, the gift waiting for Damian in his room had been Pennyworth, the trusted tuxedo stray cat.

Sadly, the town seems to be compromised 3/4th of dogs.

Pennyworth decided the best bet is to perch on Damian's shoulder, so he carts the cat through the town this way for the majority of Saturday except on special occasions when Pennyworth says fuck you, I'm a cat and walks along behind him.

But rather than fear, Pennyworth seems to be use to dogs. The cat becomes extra coy, wrapping its tail around the back of Damian's head and arching to rub while watchfully regarding Umbra from high ground.]

[You know how impressed Shinnosuke is at ~meeting each other~? Not at all.

He's also very unimpressed by the Sheriff being nowhere to be found, and he's expressing this by kicking over the guy's desk in the sheriff station upon confirming that he's conspicuously absent. COME ON, DUDE, WHERE ARE YOU.]

What are we, a bunch of kids on their first day of elementary school? Hey, hey, Mr. Sheriff, don't you know the teacher isn't supposed to ditch? That's the students' job, you know?

II — soon after arrival:

[Greetings, fellow "probably does not want to be here" person. Shinnosuke'll be approaching, all smiles (and looking a bit like he's about to keel over, but ignore that, please).]

You haven't, by any chance, seen a blonde midget? About yay high— [gesturing to about 4'8] —with a flat chest? [And if you happen to be a relatively flat-chested girl, he'll add "like you", because he's a rude shit.] Ah, possibly vomiting somewhere, but she'll probably deny it if you asked. If you ignore the fact that she's tiny enough to trip over, she's rather hard to miss, you see?

She's the kind of person who'd get eaten by coyotes first. Or shoot someone. Or get shot, in which case I'd like to be there to laugh.

III — friday, later:

[In Shinnosuke's defence for his attitude (aside from not being an outstanding citizen in general, anyway), he's also starving, which is a factor in his Not So Good Mood.

Thus, you might find him at the general store, wolfing down food like it's his first meal in a long time (because, well, it is). It might be poisoned and he knows it, but when you're hungry enough, that doesn't matter?? Also, in terms of immediate priorities, choking is probably the bigger concern, because that's what happening.]

Guh—!

[He'll just be. Slamming on his chest and trying to breathe again, thank you. He is beauty, he is grace, etc.]

[What kind of description is that? Percy's busy lifting an eyebrow but he's waiting for Shinnosuke to finish before he slowly shakes his head.]

Nooo? [And before he bothers stopping himself:] If she's hard to miss then how come you haven't found her yet?

[…he showed up with his girlfriend, he's sort of starting to wonder if other people showed up with their friends, too.]

[And as everyone begins to slowly shuffle off the platform, Jason will hang back, almost as if rooted to the spot. This isn't exactly anything out of the ordinary, of course, considering the current situation. Everyone is confused. Everyone is upset. Everyone is wondering what the heck is going on here. But it's safe to say that not everyone is wearing an outfit that looks like it belongs in a circus — which also happens to be heavily stained with blood.

Should anyone happen to stare at him, he'll slowly meet their gaze. Blink. Stare back. Suck in a sharp, quiet breath like he's just now realizing he can.]

Hi. [A BEAT. And then he gestures at his bloodied clothing.] Don't worry. Most of this is mine.

[Said like it's meant to be reassuring. Which, uh, it's not??? He doesn't seem to be visibly injured, at least.

Or, ITP: Whoever picked the one outfit he got to keep from home has a nasty sense of humor.]

[Still in the same outfit but significantly less out of it, Jason can be found picking up the key to his room. He twirls his copy between his fingers, almost considering, before turning to anyone who happens to be close enough.]

So... Any ideas what this whole shebang's supposed to be?

[Having swapped his previous outfit for something from the store, Jason will spend most of his Saturday snooping around town. Feel free to bump into him at the hotel, the town, or inside any of the other buildings in this place, as he'll be sticking his nose into everything. Figuratively and literally, of course. Around breakfast, lunch and dinner, he might even be found in the kitchen, squinting away at ingredients and trying to put something edible together.

Say hi? Or try to mooch food off him. It's all good.]

[ annabeth is more than a little worse for the wear simply because she came from a less than stellar situation previously. even with wound helaing she has some cuts and bruises, and her shirt and jeans have seen better days. she sleeps through most of the train ride and spends the little speech fiddling with the necklace of clay beads she's wearing, before immediately having a mini conference with percy jackson.

after that, she splits off to do her own thing, which is mostly: ]

[ most people think of annabeth as being intense or scary upon meeting her. this is for good reason, because her gray eyes are narrowed and focused and there's a serious little frown on her face as she bears down on you. ]

What's the last thing you remember before the train?

[ she does not have time for pleasantries? ]

saturday morning

[ having apparently hit the tailor's, annabeth will at this point be wearing men's trousers and a button-up shirt. she's still got her necklace, and she's twisted her hair back out of her way, but otherwise doesn't seem to have made any real effort to Blend. it's just nice to have clothes which are clean and not ruined.

for the most part, she can be found investigating every location she can get to and scrutinizing the wanted posters that are hung up with a frown. she's not obviously armed, but that probably doesn't mean a whole lot. ]

This makes no sense. [ ... ] I have no idea why I expect anything to make sense. Ugh.

[ Sara's not exactly amused. She'd appeared asleep on the train ride, but once it had stopped, her eyes are bright, her gaze is sharp, and she's looking around to take in everything-- or maybe to figure out just where the hell an entire group of students disappeared off to.

Either way, once the Sheriff leaves, she's resting a hand on her hip and sighing very gustily. ]

Come on. What kind of orienteering exercise is this? At least I made mine fun and exciting!

[ You will likely find Sara in one of two places. First, and more happily, she'll be in the saloon, gazing rather fondly at the array of alcohol behind the bar before she... slips behind the counter and shoots whoever walks in a grin. ]

So, what'll it be? Beer, cocktail, or Oh-No-I-Just-Walked-In-There's-Been-A-Mistake-I'm-Underage?

[ Never mind that she's asking this while holding a pretty full beer mug.

Otherwise... you'll find her in the graveyard, frowning the longer she walks among the graves. But if you ask her about it, she'll just smile faintly at first and tilt her head. It's probably a mood-killer to point this out, she thinks, but this wasn't exactly a surprise vacation sprung on her for being such a great teacher.

[He's underaged but at the same time Percy's not stupid enough or good enough to say so. They wandered into a casino and stayed for a week when he was 12. He's used to being places he shouldn't, especially when it's not even his fault. Instead he's been trying to talk to as many people as he can and this was one of the places on his list. He doesn't exactly smile back, but there's a pleasant enough look on his face as he takes in the saloon.

There's also a small, booming "woof" from a friend sitting somewhere by his feet.]

b. saturday morning.

[ honestly, lissa does her best to hide under her pillow (gumpily) before giving up on getting more sleep and dragging herself outside. she has a staff in her hands and is clutching it tightly, looking ready to use it for something other than it's intended purpose.

eventually, she can be found in the general store, eating cereal right out of the box. forget manners this is an emergency?? a "I haven't eaten since yesterday pre-train ride emergency". ] Whatever this is, it's good stuff!

How do you pay for it, though? I don't see a merchant. [ is she talking to herself or you. is it either or.

after realizing she has zero gold on her and this is theft, she carefully closes the box and slips it back before whistling away. NOTHING TO SEE HERE, FOLKS. ]

[ Friday night, and Rin is pulling herself into the room. It's been a long day. Made longer by somehow waking up on a train and being forced to extend that day by several more hours.

Strangely... there seems to be a furry creature following him: a tuxedo cat, doing about as much getting into trouble as he is.

[Curiosity gets the better of her pretty quickly when she finds a key with her name on it, so the group hasn't even been here an hour before Yuna finds and puts on her hat. She loves it. She's wearing it forever.

While the initial wave of group panic begins to settle, she's wandering about, less with the intention of figuring out where she is and what's going on and more meaning to get used to the crowd. So many people poured out of that train with her, each just as confused as the next.

And apparently nobody ever taught this small child about stranger danger, because she's making like some kind of goddamn Pokémon trainer NPC and approaching anyone who will so much as make eye contact, and probably plenty of people who won't.]

Excuse me, excuse me! Can I introduce myself? [Without waiting for an answer, she bows politely. She has to adjust her hat so it hasn't fallen over her face when she stands straight again.] I'm Yuna Yuki, second year student at Sanshu middle school. [Exploring hasn't been Yuna's immediate priority when there are so many people to meet and check in on, but Saturday, she finally finds the homestead. This is largely an accident. She got lost.

But goddamn does Yuna have her priorities straight because any anxiety over being lost and alone in an unfamiliar place disappears in an instant when she sees the fields of flowers—things she's never seen before, things she thought didn't exist anymore, some of her favorites, things that shouldn't even grow together. She picks as many as she can carry, fills up her arms and the pockets in her jeans and the pocket in the pink flannel she's acquired (she's already going hog on the cowboy aesthetic; Yuna it's been a day), and tries to find her way back.

Once the town's in sight, Yuna, giddy about her finds and the prospect of sharing them, completely forgets that she's still kind of sick and books it the rest of the way there. Hence the sight of one tiny teenager, arms full of flowers, scattering petals in her wake, grinning like an idiot, flushed and sweaty and looking a little like she might keel over, panting hard because she can't even wait to tell the nearest person:] Have—have you seen—seen the farm over there?!

[It says a lot about just how goddamn weird this situation is that Eliot is thrown for an actual, honest to god loop.. Because waking up in an unknown location, yeah, he can deal with that. A train's not even close to being the strangest place he's woken up. Hell of a lot more pleasant than some places, honestly.

But then there's this Sheriff and...? What even? There's all kinds of details about the guy that are wrong, all very distinctive but it's not exactly adding up to anything yet. He doesn't like this, not one bit. Especially 'cause he's not spotting anyone familiar.

Immediately, his first instinct is to talk under his breath. He's being subtle about it, but someone might still notice this guy just suddenly talking to himself.]

[Eliot made a stop in the room they gave him. And he's not exactly pleased about it. Okay, he hasn't been pleased about anything since the moment he woke up, to be entirely fair. But this is a different kinda pissed.

He's back down on the first floor of the saloon now, sitting at a table. He's set the hat and pistol that were in his room down on the table and he's currently glaring at them, his arms crossed. Well. More so the pistol, really. If looks could kill, that pistol would be so goddamn dead.]

Giving people guns. [Yeah, he sounds uh... he sounds real mad right now.] This is a disaster waitin' to happen.

[The next logical step is reconnaissance. No guards or anything like that, at least no one visibly keeping an eye on them all. Makes looking around a little easier, at least.

He did some looking around the previous day too, yeah. But with the sun setting, visibility wasn't great. Easier to do it in the light of day, at least for the more in-depth stuff. It's pretty early in the day, too. The sun only just rose.

So Eliot's going from building to building now, taking a look inside all of them. He's checking out the ceilings a lot - as covert as he's trying to be about this, eventually you're gonna notice when a guy keeps looking up - and some of the walls. Underneath tables as well. Inside cabinets. Just everywhere.

It seems sort of like he's looking for something, but who knows what. You'll have to ask him.]

Or he thought he was. Instead, here he is. On a train. The very action of "opening his eyes" and the sensation of grogginess itself is bizarre to someone who's lived his entire life in the bodiless void of cyberspace, and he knows something is wrong immediately upon regaining consciousness. A consciousness he wasn't expecting to regain at all. Not once had he ever even entertained the concept of an afterlife. Thus, he can only arrive at one conclusion: something has gone terribly wrong, and his data has been copied into another vehicle.

Ash's first instinct is to panic, with things so far out of his control and understanding, but he's tired enough from the war, the loss of his "last Galerians," and those memories of Rion that he manages to resist that impulse. He gains awareness of his new body; he flexes the fingers, scans its specifications and capabilities. He looks at the people around him, who are unfamiliar, and whose attire he can trace back to multiple time periods far in the past. He walks off and gets on the platform with the rest of them. He listens to the stupid human male speak. He is calm.

He is about to burst.

As soon as that man walks away, he's quick to sling an arm out to whoever is nearest to him, attempting to pull them into a chokehold - as if he's taking a hostage. ]

Tell me what the hell is going on. Now. Who did this to me?!

[ his voice is a hissing snarl, full of smoldering rage - but not without a tinge of fear, too. ]

[ Chane's almost caught off guard by the chokehold; how not? It hadn't been telegraphed in the slightest. Still, her peripheral vision just catches the movement before he has an arm hooked around her throat, and she ducks out of the way. The effortless grace with which she moves is almost ghostly.

As for the question, well. No answer and no voice to give it leaves her in a bit of a bind. She could just walk away, she knows - but doesn't, for some reason.

He even carries himself with the kind of swagger you'd see in a spaghetti western movie character more than in real life, his spurs jingling with every step. The only thing breaking the old-west inspired getup might be the expensive sunglasses atop his head.]

[Lingering outside the train station, he runs a gloved hand along the back of a bench, more out of awe than suspicion, and gives a low whistle.]

[There's that yelling coming from the hotel lobby. A second later, a full-grown wolf wearing an eye-patch headbutts the doors open and comes charging outside, forgetting his training and ignoring Ocelot's call for the moment because something out in the road needs to be sniffed up close! Maybe a dog, maybe a person. Ocelot comes out the doors a moment after, waving at whoever DD just bothered.]

Sorry about that. He usually listens. DD, down!

[And it's a person! A person who has totally frozen up in an attempt to get the wolf to lose interest and leave them alone. Sei regrets leaving her weapons behind in her room for a few moments - but then Ocelot emerges from the hotel and she glances between him and the wolf.]

[The situation would most likely be disorienting to anyone. But it's even more disorienting when you have no idea what you're on or how you're moving or... you get the point. When Ezio gets off the train, he finds himself more interested in the contraption behind him, though his instincts remind him to focus on the man speaking to him. Still, he can't help sneaking glances back and the more he looks at the train, the more dumbfounded his expression becomes. Once the sheriff leaves them be, Ezio grabs the shoulder of the person next to him to get their attention. He's not exactly trying to interrogate them, but...]

Mi dispiace, but do you know what that... that...

[He looks between the person and the train, then gestures more as if that'll help him think of the word. It doesn't.]

II. a bit later

[While most people might be looking at their rooms, getting their items, and getting acquainted with each other, a certain assassin can be seen scaling the hotel. He moves quickly and gracefully, eventually reaching the top of the building. At last, he has a proper vantage point of his surroundings so now he better understands where he is. Or so he had hoped. To tell the truth, this doesn't tell him very much at all, and instead he finds himself simply missing the cities he knew well.

At some point, he gets tired of wishing for sights of churches and the river Arno, deciding it would be best to move on and investigate from down below. Ezio sighs, then takes a leap of faith, landing in a conveniently placed haystack. He gets out as if it's the most casual thing in the world and then continues on his way. A few strands of hay might still be stuck to him, but he doesn't seem to really care.]

What an amazing place this is turning out to be. He can be found wandering the streets throughout the day after the announcement from their not quite human friend. Undertaker has studied humans extensively, the way their skin feels to how they look in life and death, and he's certain that man is anything but. But he wonders what he could possibly be then, and what he'd want with a whole bunch of humans anyway? Well if his own past escapades were anything to go by they were all in for quite a ride.

He just laughs a little as he looks around. ] What a fascinating place this is turning out to be. It's been so long since I've felt this human.

[ And of course what place would an Undertaker go then the graveyard. It's a funny thing how their names are already on the graves before they've even gotten settled here. He isn't going to react badly, though. He listens calmly and once the Sheriff goes away Tarvek makes his move, intending to talk to him in the Sheriff's Office. The problem is that there's no one there.

Tarvek has made an exploration of the terrain. There are some places he did't check, such as the mineshaft, but overall he thinks he has a general idea of what the place has and all its uses. There's something that gets his attention, though: the lack of technology.

There are a few things, but it's not remarkable, and that's what bothers him. It's very unusual. You'll see Tarvek in the saloon, checking the automatic piano. Judging by his face, he isn't happy with what he sees. It's useless both as practical object and as possible material to build something truly useful]
